Homer Hickam is one of the true life heroes from the movie "October Sky".  Terry and myself attended a speaking engagement when Mr.. Homer Hickam appeared in Springfield, September 2003.  After the event, Mr.. Hickam allowed some time for autographs and book signings.  Terry asked Mr.. Hickam to autograph one of his rockets.  He made a little boy extremely proud..
